1. Corinth canal

The Corinth Canal, a narrow canal of 6.3 km length (3.9 miles) connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.

2. Olympia

Olympia, in ancient times became the most important religious and athletic center in Greece. It hosted the Olympic Games, the greatest national festival and a highly prestigious one in the then known world which was held every four years to honor Zeus and instituted the sacred “ekecheiria” or truce.
Olympia was also known for the gigantic ivory and gold statue of Zeus that used to stand there, which was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In modern times, the ceremony of lighting the Olympic Flame and the Olympic Torch Relay begins at the altar in the Temple of Hera at Olympia.
Olympia is located 290km (180miles) south-west of Athens in an imposing landscape at the Valley of Alpheios River.

3. archeological site of olympia
